I have been a member of Twitter for almost a year now though have known of it’s existence for some time. For the longest time I just didn’t get it. How could 140 characters or less be anything even remotely tantalizing? For people like myself at the time, new to the Twitterverse, updating it felt oddly like talking to one’s self and a little “silly” trying to figure out what would look super cool to “tweet”. My own sister, anything but a “geek” and who still sometimes has trouble unzipping a file (sorry sis!) ended up with more followers and updates than I did and I knew then that this was just all wrong. I had to be missing something. And for sure, I was. I started finding more interesting people to follow. I started actually reading other people’s Twitter pages, I saw celebrities on there updating and chatting it up, I read wonderful success stories of other people tweeting their way to internet marketing success. I finally “got it” … and so should YOU if you rely in any way shape or form on the web to do your business. Do not underestimate the power of this albeit simple concept!
