At last count, I have around 1500 custom Photoshop styles I’ve created, in total. If you don’t know what styles are or how they’re used, putting it simply they can create any look from gold and glittery, to sleek and clean, to richly textured. They are most commonly used on fonts and elements like buttons, banners and the like. It’s my pleasure (and pain!) to begin the task of offering them free for download, a little bit a time. (more…)

Sad Anniversary

This entry is definitely on the deeply personal side, but even 32 years later it continues to be a dark day every July 13th, and one that I’ve decided to finally write about and share. On that day back in the summer of 1977, I was a little girl enjoying the vacation from school and in general, a charming childhood. Raised by my mom, and who by now was “Dad” to me, my stepdad who adopted me when they married, I had only a few vague memories of my biological father. My mom had divorced him when I was 4, and remarried when I turned 5. (more…)

Finally!

So, with a tiny element of de’javu going on, I welcome you for the second time this year to the re-design of Darlanne.com. Previously I had transformed the entire site to focus solely on my interest in hypnosis and hypnotherapy schooling. I guess this site being that of only a design related one for that many years, it’s not surprising that I received comments from visitors that they missed the old stuff. I’ll be honest, there wasn’t a lot of “stuff” anyway since the hacking last January but because I have been, am, and always will be a designer, writer, photo retoucher, all around Photoshop junkie, (more…)
