I recently read a brilliant quote by Thomas Edison. He was asked how it had felt to fail 700 times in his discovering electricity. He said “I didn’t fail 700 times, I succeeded in proving that those 700 ways won’t work.” … I don’t plan on inventing or discovering any natural phenomena or anything but I can really relate to the dude and how he felt. In all my problems, I’ve never stopped doing or trying, seeking out ways to solve my problems. None of them have worked, so it comes down the point of, wow maybe it’s me? Many of my problems are not my fault or doing and I clearly see that but I am responsible for how I choose to address and tackle them. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I don’t wish for that to be writing on my tombstone. But wow is that ever me. That is me in a nutshell over many things and people in my life. Head meet wall, wall meet head, BANG, rinse and repeat like some really bad sequel to Groundhog Day. Something HAS to change here, not just something but many things. I can’t change anybody, but I can change myself and that will naturally result in others having to adapt to those changes, accordingly.
Do I believe in hypnosis? ABSOLUTELY! I believe in God, I believe He gave us our minds along with free will in order to use them. I am not one who views hypnosis as a religion or mystical new age fluff. I view it as exercising the most important part of our body we own, our BRAINS. There really is no doubt inside me that this can work. For me the problem will be in cranking down the volume of the constant chaos around me in this miserable little place in order to redirect myself, and thus save my kids from all this. That’s going to be the challenge.
So, I have my study guides ready, I’m nailing down my goals and breaking them down in to smaller bite size chunks, and I’m choosing what should start first. This blog will serve as not just my record, but my affirmations too because in this house those are gonna be sorely needed at times.
More to come!
